HSU members - Have your say on the proposed EA!

Following a strong campaign by HSU members, HammondCare are taking their proposed enterprise agreement out to a vote.

 

All HSU members are invited to attend a special briefing with your HSU Bargaining Team, next Monday 11 September at 5:00PM, to update members and take you through some of the key proposed changes. See details below.

 

It has been a long negotiation and while several of our claims have not been accepted, your Bargaining Team has won some positive improvements in the new proposed EA, without giving up any current conditions or entitlements.

 

Remember – this is your enterprise agreement. The offer can only be accepted if a majority of staff who vote, vote ‘yes’. If you don’t like what is being offered and would like to keep negotiating, we encourage you to vote ‘no’.

 

Wages

The proposed wage increases are:

  • 2023: An average of 2.2%
  • 2024: 3%
  • 2025: 3%

 

Revised classification structure

HammondCare are proposing to merge the carer classifications into a ‘Specialised Carer’. Care Service Employees who are not engaged as carers will become ‘Service Support Employee’.

Other Key Improvements

  • Special Infection leave
  • A ‘Working Alone Allowance’
  • Clear Threshold on travel expenses for HCAH Care Workers
  • Staff to have regularly rostered hours – being days of the week and start/finish times each day – confirmed in their contract on commencement.
