HSU members employed as Radiation Therapists and Perfusionists at The Canberra Hospital recently voted to take protected action in support of their outstanding bargaining claims.
The work bans proposed were unanimously supported by the membership. It’s clear that HSU members have had enough!
Once the Protected Action Ballot declaration came through last Wednesday, management was notified that members would commence action as soon as possible. Members then held a meeting last Friday and endorsed escalating action commencing this Friday 4 August 2023.
This a fantastic display to management that these members are ready to fight for what is fair.
Both classifications want one thing – an agreement that ensures they can continue to provide their services to the ACT community. Without competitive wages and conditions, the Territory will fall behind other states.
HSU members have already made it clear to management that staff will have to leave due to rising pressure of cost of living if their claims are not met.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
