Published April 21, 2023
The Allied Health Awards are out of date and not fit for purpose, and staff are overworked and underpaid. The HSU is preparing for Award negotiations, so now is the time to make a difference to improve your profession and working conditions.
The HSU is establishing an Industrial Advisory Committee to provide representation for Allied Health professionals who do not currently have an Industrial Committee. Work will focus on Awards and other key areas of advocacy for collective professional and industrial outcomes.
The HSU Industrial Advisory Committee will be member led and will act as the steering group for the technical Award issues for Allied Health professions listed below. It will be responsible for:
- Identifying and developing strategic plans for resolving state-wide issues
- Improving recognition and representation of Health Professionals
- Identifying priority issues that need to be fixed in the Awards.
- Undertake research and review industrial instruments, frameworks and policies covering Health Professionals
The Industrial Advisory Committee will be developed for the following professions:
- Art Therapist
- Audiologist
- Counsellor
- Diversional Therapist
- Exercise Physiologist
- Music Therapist
