HSU industrial action

Published May 30, 2023
Tomorrow health workers across NSW are taking industrial action.
Health workers know why – it’s time for a pay rise. It’s time to put an end to this Government stealing half of your salary packaging benefits. It’s time for an increase to superannuation. It’s time to fix out of date Awards.
It’s been two months. But this Government has been silent on pay for health workers.
Enough is enough. Tomorrow, MLHD and Albury members are taking action. The below are endorsed actions to be taken between 0001, Wednesday 31 May and continuing until 0600, Thursday 1 June:
- No cleaning any non-clinical area
- No delivering any meals into rooms requiring barrier nursing
- No stores duties being provided by workers not employed in a Storeman role
- No transportation of patients without nursing escort
- No administering of oxygen to patients (Oxygen to be administered by nursing staff as required)
- Declining of patient billing and invoicing
- Changing of email signatures to reflect and represent HSU Action
- Diverting of work phones whilst on unpaid meals
Members are reminded to only take actions that have been endorsed by HSU members.

This Government needs to hear us loud and clear: it’s time for action now.
