Published November 3, 2021
I am pleased to announce the next round of grants available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups or organisations under the HSU’s Indigenous Development Fund.
The Fund was initially established in 2020 to benefit projects undertaking work in the priority areas of:
- Community development
- Wellbeing programs
- Sporting programs
- Elder programs
- Literacy programs
- Health Initiatives
- Education Initiatives
The Fund may award funding of between $2,000.00 and up to $10,000.00 for the implementation of a community-based project. Applications are open now and close 10 December 2021. For more information and to submit an application, please visit www.hsu.asn.au/our-latest/the-hsu-indigenous-development-fund/.
It is the HSU’s strong belief that a contemporary trade union should act socially, as well as industrially. Supporting groups that are performing this important work within Indigenous communities will help to contribute to health outcomes as well as elevating cultural cohesion and understanding.
We have had a fantastic response to last year’s round of grants, with strong interest and 12 very deserving recipients selected by the HSU’s Indigenous Development Committee. You can read more about them here.
If you have any questions about the Fund or about the Committee, please send an email to [E-Mail not displayed].
