HNELHD: More consultation needed around new In-Reach Services

Dear Member,
HSU members at HNELHD have raised concerns around the potential lack of consultation around the creation of the new Residential Aged Care (RAC) In-reach team services for Taree and the surrounding areas.
Last month, the LHD announced a new “tailored and timely” approach to providing care to residential aged care residents in Taree and surrounds via a new Residential Aged Care (RAC) In-reach team. The geriatric urgent care service is made up of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, geriatricians, career medical officers and physiotherapists and will provide medical and physical health care for residents suffering non-life-threatening conditions.
You can read more about the In-Reach team HERE.
HSU members have contacted HNELHD, requesting genuine consultation about the new team’s role, what it could mean for existing positions and next steps. So far, the LHD has committed to consult with workers as more information is received.
It’s vital HSU members have their say and have their concerns listened to by management!
HSU members should contact their local delegate or HSU organiser Matt Ramsay via 0419 553 105 or [E-Mail not displayed] if they wish to provide further feedback about the new service.
