Over the last 12 months, a small but dedicated group of Health Education and Health Promotion Officers have been working to improve the HEO Award and increase the funding and visibility of health promotion work.

An HSU HEO Industrial Committee has been set up by this group, in recognition that you are a small and often neglected group of workers who make such a difference in the community.

But Governments don’t always share this view. Recently, we have seen the Victorian Government announce they are going to slash the funding for Health Promotion Work. It’s clear we need to advocate collectively.

It’s our time to make our voice heard. With a new NSW State Government who is willing to negotiate our Awards, we finally have an opportunity to make long overdue changes.

But we need to come together to do this, we cannot expect someone else to do it for us. So we’re calling a mass meeting for HEO and HPO workers on Tuesday May 9 2023 at 12:30pm. Click here to register.
