HealthShare ‘shared services evolution: WSLHD HSU members remain opposed to take over

Dear Member,

Last week was the second USCC for the “Shared Services Evolution”. HealthShare are proposing it will directly employ “non-clinical” staff across the LHD including cleaning, stores, docks, waste management and linen.

HSU delegates from across these departments attended the USCC to give management their message: HSU members are opposed to this take over.

Why? Because members have concerns over potential staff cuts, increased workloads and adverse impacts on patient care.

To address these concerns, it was suggested that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) could be created. This industrial agreement would outline specific protections and assurances for members that work conditions and entitlements will be safeguarded into the future.

Your HSU delegates are now writing a draft MoU for all impacted members to consider.

This week HSU will hold member meetings at Westmead, Cumberland, Auburn, Blacktown, and Mt Druitt. Keep an eye out for details of your local meeting! Your participation in these meetings will be crucial in determining the union’s stance moving forward.

Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
