The Healthe Care Enterprise Agreement has been voted into effect. While it’s disappointing that the final document doesn’t reflect everything HSU members wanted, members worked tirelessly and built power in the workplace.

The vote shows that Healthe Care workers are divided and though the outcome is not what we campaigned for, HSU members ran hard against a relentless management strategy– union flyers went missing, holding meeting after meeting to encourage the “yes” vote - HSU members continued to stand together in solidarity and gained some great new conditions, including:

• An additional two weeks paid parental leave
• 15 days paid family violence leave
• A new storeperson clause and rates
• An extra one day of paid union leave
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Leave
• Public Holiday Swap
