Concerning reports are coming through from Westmead regarding the upcoming changes to parking fees. Here is what we know:

1. From February 5, 2024, parking fees will be reinstated for ALL STAFF, including those who have not been paying throughout the pandemic.
2. The current ad hoc arrangement for staff on the waiting list will be terminated, and members are being told they need to make ‘alternative arrangements’.
3. Parking fees are being increased; we understand this is going to make parking at work almost $1500 per year.
4. The waiting list has not been processed since free parking has been implemented, meaning that even if you applied years ago, you are likely one of many still on the waiting list before you get parking access.

Come to the emergency meeting about the reintroduction of parking fees on Tuesday, January 16. It will be held in the WECC Auditorium on Level 2 at 12.30.

Talk to your colleagues about the car parking situation and encourage them to be involved in the HSU campaign for fair car parking at Westmead.
