It gives me no small pleasure to report that the HSU has grown considerably over the last few years.

As our Union continues to grow, so too do the needs of our membership. To make sure that we can continue to attend to the needs of all members, the HSU has significantly expanded its staff in recent times. But we need to expand it still further.

Right now, the Union is advertising a number of vacant roles. We need dedicated people to help our members win better outcomes, no matter where or how. This is a good problem to have!

We also know that union jobs aren’t like other jobs. Passion, empathy, an understanding of the work that members do, and above all a strong sense of unionism and mutual support – these are all vital qualities. Our Union is strengthened and refreshed by its membership.

That’s why we are now instituting the HSU Employment Registry ­– an opportunity for rank-and-file members to express an interest in working for the Union.
