Dear Member,
Recently the Fair Work Commission approved your new enterprise agreement. Your new enterprise agreement is now in operation, which means the new conditions are in effect.
The Commission approved your agreement, only after HammondCare made several important commitments to ensure the EA met all legal requirements.
Those commitments (known as undertakings) include:
- Clarification that disputes about any matters arising under the enterprise agreement, can be dealt with via the dispute resolution procedure in the agreement.
- An increase to the rate of pay for Specialised Carer – New Entrant to $28.70, to ensure that the EA rate is higher than the equivalent rate in the Aged Care Award.
- Changes to the KM Allowance, to align the enterprise agreement with the provision in the SCHADS Award. This includes removing the limit on the allowance not being payable from home to the first client, or from the last client to the employee’s home.
- Clarification that employees undertaking training activities, who work more than either 76 hours in a fortnight or 10 hours in a day, will be eligible for overtime.
Your agreement also includes a pay increase, back dated to 1 July 2023.
If you have questions about your pay rate or any concerns about your back pay, please contact the union so that we can assist.
Attached is a copy of the new agreement.
Your agreement outlines your rights and conditions at work, so please have a read of it and keep a copy for yourself. If you have any questions, contact your local union organiser or the HSU’s Member Service Division for assistance.
