The NSW Government has announced improvements to salary packaging arrangements for HSU-covered NSW Health workers. Tax savings for health workers will now increase from 50% to 70%.

The Government has also said they are committed to reaching 100% salary packaging. They will outline the next steps following delivery of the State Budget next week.

This is an important first step. But health workers deserve 100% of their salary packaging tax benefits.

HSU members across NSW have campaigned for an end to the theft of salary packaging benefits. This first step from the Government shows that when union members stand together, we get things done.

The fight is still on for 100% salary packaging. We’ll be watching the Budget carefully and will keep the pressure on this Government to return all tax savings. It’s your money – it belongs in your pocket.
