Published May 8, 2024
HSU members in the Security Department at Gosford Hospital met with representatives yesterday to discuss their concerns and discuss next steps. Concerns raised include:
- Lack of appropriate personal protective equipment
- Specialling / Standbys – CCLHD’s practice of breaching the Protecting People and Property Manual by directing Security Officers to special mental health patients without a clinician
- Lack of space for Security Officers to debrief after a stressful incident
- Staffing levels
Members are asked to respond to this survey to vote on their top priorities before moving ahead. Please ensure you have your say by 5pm Sunday 12 May 2024.
Once the survey results are compiled, members will set up a working group and decide on the next steps.
