Recently, the HSU was informed of NSW Health Pathology downgrading and reclassifying a Hospital Scientist position to a Technical Officer position within Microbiology at Gosford Hospital.

To members’ anger, this occurred without any consultation with the Union or our members. Members will also be aware that there are current proceedings before the NSW Industrial Relations Commission about the Ministry of Health’s proposed Award variations to similar positions.

The HSU has notified the employer of a dispute.
