Tomorrow health workers across NSW are taking industrial action.  

Health workers know why – it’s time for a pay rise. It’s time to put an end to this Government stealing half of your salary packaging benefits. It’s time for an increase to superannuation. It’s time to fix out of date Awards. 

It’s been two months. But this Government has been silent on pay for health workers.  

Enough is enough. Tomorrow, Gilgandra members are taking action. The below are endorsed actions:

Admin 

• No admissions or discharges will done - after hour process will need to be followed by nursing staff
• No making appts or bookings - clients will be told to call back next day
• One admin staff in front office - will answer limited phone calls - all other calls will divert to nurses cordless phones - admin will not accept the diverted calls from nurses.
• Admin staff will be unavailable for all other tasks (set tasks are organised)

Cleaners

• Cleaners not to clean Public areas - Public Toilets and Waiting room in the Administration 
• No discharge cleaning
• Clean bedrooms only in Aged Care and empty bins in bathrooms - not to clean the bathrooms 

Kitchen staff 

• No morning tea for patients
• No cooked sweets, only portion control desserts for lunch and tea
• No afternoon tea 

Physiotherapist  

• No ad hoc (stats) done for the day. 

This Government needs to hear us loud and clear: it’s time for action now.
