Forster/Tuncurry Aged Care Workers: What is job security in aged care?
-
Published October 26, 2021
Currently the Australian Senate is holding an Inquiry into Job Security. For many aged care workers this is a real and present problem with roster changes, unreliable contracts, staffing problems and hours a daily concern.
This inquiry is being led by Senator Tony Sheldon, who was a former union leader before entering politics. Tony has asked to meet with you and your colleagues to hear firsthand about the realities of your work. So that you can talk openly he has arranged space at Club Forster this Monday 1 November 9am to 10:30am.
This is a great opportunity to tell a politician the real truth – not sugar coated – about working in aged care, and about the highs and lows of a sector in need of more support from the Federal Government.
Your local HSU Organiser Karen Wiles will there (in a blue HSU shirt) and will be there to talk about other workplace concerns you might want to raise. If you can make it, or have any questions, contact Karen on 0408 164 519.
