Dear Member,
This is the chance for disability workers to have their say on sleepovers.
The HSU, along with other disability unions around the country, is seeking changes to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award in regard to sleepovers, as part of a major case in the Fair Work Commission.
The HSU’s application was lodged this week and seeks to:
- Triple the sleepover pay, to more than $150 per sleepover
- Strengthen the rules on when and how they can be rostered
- Protect penalty rates and overtime for sleepovers
- Fight back against big business who are seeking to extend the hours of work around sleepovers
If you’re a HSU disability member who undertakes sleepovers as part of your work, it’s vital you have your say.
Email [E-Mail not displayed] before 6 August and have your say today as part of this important application.
Encourage your workmates to join the HSU. Together you have strength in your workplace. New members can join online at www.hsu.asn.au/join or call 1300 478 679.
