Cuts to HNELHD Library Funding

Published June 3, 2021
At a meeting yesterday, it was announced to Hunter New England Health Libraries staff that the University of Newcastle would be withdrawing $420,000 in funding from library services within the LHD.
This will most likely have a significant impact on staffing levels and the capacity of a number of facilities to provide education and research support to HNELHD facilities.
The HSU is now requesting urgent feedback from health professionals around how this budget cut will affect their professions, with particular regard to ongoing research projects and professional development.
