Cranbrook Care EA: News from the Bargaining Table!

After presenting a log of claims based on member surveys to Cranbrook Care in the ongoing Enterprise Bargaining process, we've received a first draft of a revised Enterprise Agreement.

Your HSU Bargaining Team presented twenty claims to Cranbrook Care. These claims were formulated through consultation and Cranbrook HSU members having their say.

Management have responded to your claims, have agreed to just five.

Cranbrook Care have tabled a wage offer. As is stands, management are offering a 3.5% wage increase for years 2024 and 2025. For 2023, it is a bit more complicated.

The 15% increase from the HSU’s Work Value Case has now come into effect, along with the 5.75% on Award Rates, have created an opportunity for employers to behave as though they are giving huge wage increase when in reality it is because the Award rates have gone up.

Management have already passed through their “2023 increase”, which is different for every classification. Attached here is a comparison table of the Cranbrook Care rates, next to the Award rates to show the difference.

We want to hear from you, contact the Aged Care Bargaining Officer at [E-Mail not displayed] to ask questions or raise any concerns. After a period of consultation, the proposed Enterprise Agreement will go to a vote, where the workers of Cranbrook Care have the final say.

The HSU will continue its membership led bargaining strategy through further updates and consultation as the process continues. Only HSU members are represented in these negotiations, know someone that isn’t a member? We're stronger if more of us stand.
