COVID testing requirements for members in Fairfield LGA & 'single site' update
-
Published July 15, 2021
As a result of new health orders issued on 13 July 2021, if you live in the Fairfield Local Government Area and are working in any health and aged services, you are now required to have regular COVID-19 tests so that you can continue to go to work.
You need to have your first test done by Friday 16th of July 2021 and continue to get tested every 3 days in case you are required to show a police officer. Leaving Fairfield LGA to get a test won’t be considered an acceptable reason for not having an up-to-date test.
If you live outside the Fairfield LGA and are travelling into it for the purpose of work, then you do not have any additional testing requirements.
24-hour testing clinics have now been set up at:
- Fairfield Showground: 433 Smithfield Road Prairiewood
- Endeavour Sports Park: Maud Street Fairfield
- Mount Pritchard Laverty Pathology: 254 Humphries Road Mount Pritchard
- Mount Pritchard Laverty Pathology: 111 Meadows Road Mount Pritchard
If members are experiencing difficulties getting tested or have any questions, please contact the HSU Member Services Division on 1300 478 679 or email [E-Mail not displayed].
The Single Site Employment Program continues across Metro Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong. This is likely to be extended in line with the lockdown. The key principle of the program is that workers are not worse off, and employers are funded by the government to participate. More information can be found here:

If you are having difficulties with the Single Site Employment Program, contact your local HSU Organiser, the HSU Member Services Division on 1300 478 679, or email [E-Mail not displayed].
Finally, the last several weeks have been very challenging for you and your colleagues. You are on the front line, working in incredibly hard situations facing challenges most in the community don’t understand. I want to thank you for the work you are doing to keep the most vulnerable safe.
