Changes to Wyong Hospital admin services: Has your workload changed?

Dear Member,
The HSU has received reports of major workplace changes without consultation at Wyong Hospital. These changes will have a significant impact on workers in administration and patient services roles and it’s vital you have your say!
In 2021 a USCC was held with workers, the HSU and Wyong Hospital management, during which it was agreed shift times would be as follows:
- 0700 to 1500, 1500 to 2300 and 2300 to 0700
Now, Wyong management are denying a USCC took place and are claiming staff should be working an additional 30 minutes, this would mean shift times change to:
- 0700 to 1530, 1500 to 2330 and 2300 to 0730
Wyong Hospital are also directing staff in the emergency department to take scheduled meal breaks. This would mean workers from other departments would be covering Emergency Administration work, which without sufficient training could seriously compromise patient care. The change also means an increase in workloads for a department already understaffed and overworked.
HSU have written to Wyong management requesting a USCC to enter proper consultation with affected workers.
If you have been impacted by these changes, please reach out to your CCLHD organiser Kerry Colling [E-Mail not displayed]
