HSU members at Cessnock have endorsed work bans based on the current unreasonable wages and Salary Packaging.

Please find below the HSU member-endorsed work bans:

• Cleaning staff will only perform 1 infectious clean per shift (1 each staff member). Only clinical areas will be cleaned. Nursing staff to make beds
• Kitchen staff will provide disposable crockery and cutlery only.
• Admin will be processing all admissions as Medicare, not private admissions. 
• HSA staff will only attend wards for codes – ED work will not be affected. Nursing staff are to remove dirty linen from ward.
• Maintenance staff will only be attending to urgent job requests, all routine work will be placed on hold for 24hrs.
• Pharmacy staff will distribute new medications to wards in full packs only.
• Allied health staff to monitor new referrals and action as required – non urgent referrals will not be attended on Wednesday.
