Update on First Bargaining Meeting

Your HSU Bargaining Team attended the first bargaining meeting with Canberra Imaging Group (‘CIG’) on 8 June. The first meeting mainly focused on the CIG’s starting position for bargaining. CIG presented their proposal by way of a marked up copy of your current enterprise agreement (‘Marked Up Proposed EA’). 

On 9 June 2021, the HSU received a copy the Marked Up Proposed EA from the CEO. We understand that CIG management has also circulated a copy of this document to all employees. You can view CIG’s Marked Up Proposed EA by clicking here.

Some of CIG’s key proposed changes include:

• Spreading out pay progression and performance review across the year;
• Deletion of sonographer tutor allowance;
• Reduction of paid parental leave for primary caregivers from 12 to 10 weeks and increase in the time needed to qualify for paid parental leave;
• Changes in progression requirements for sonography;
• Productivity performance measures for sonographers in exchange for an increase in sonographer pay; and
• Pay increase of 2.25% per annum over a 4 year period.

The HSU Bargaining Team seeks your feedback on these key changes and other matters in the Marked Up Proposed EA.

Initial Log of Claims

Members will recall from our last newsletter that we have compiled and presented to CIG management your Initial Log of Claims. You can view the HSU Initial Log of Claims by clicking here.

CIG has committed to responding to the HSU Initial Log of Claims in writing in the coming weeks.
