Canberra Hospital: Expansion of Phlebotomy Ward Services decision paper

Dear member,

Canberra Health Services (CHS) has advised the HSU the proposal to broaden services to provide weekend and public holiday phlebotomy services to wards at Canberra Hospital to further support the clinical areas to deliver care to the community has been accepted.

Staff also voted in favour of implementing an extended roster period of two months with roster option 1 being the preferred roster option for the expansion of service.

The timeframe for the implementation of these changes is reliant on the recruitment and training of additional staff and the incorporation of the new roster into the PROACT system. It is envisaged that the new service and changes to the roster will be implemented as soon as recruitment, onboarding and training occurs.
