Broken Hill Award Update

On 30 January 2024, the Broken Hill Health Employees' (State) Award was amended to reflect the 2023/24 pay increase.
HSU members were surveyed in October 2023 with the two pay offers made by NSW Health (a flat increase of $3,502 to all annual rates, or a 4% increase). HSU members overwhelmingly voted for the $3,502 flat increase.
With the Award now being amended to insert the new pay rise, HSU members will receive back pay for these new rates to 1 July 2023. This will be paid in the coming weeks. Unfortunately delays created by the Broken Hill Town Employee’s Union mean that members in Broken Hill are receiving this increase months after health workers across the state.
This year HSU members will be fighting for sector-wide reforms to bring the NSW Health industrial relations framework into the 21st century. Make sure your colleagues are a part of this fight by being members of the HSU.
Do you know someone who isn’t an HSU member? Encourage them to join our Union today and have a say at work. We are always stronger when we stand together.
