BCAC management have given notice of proposed changes to the roster at Gillawarna Village.

Management are proposing to remove the CSE Grade 2 (6:30am to 11:30am) shift in Cottages 1, 2 and 3. The change is expected to impact 4 employees working in the cottages.

You will be given the opportunity to discuss the impact further through one-on-one consultations. The meetings have started and will finish on 24 March 2023.

The main concern is a possible reduction to contracted or regular rostered hours. During this process all options to minimise the impact must be pursued. One option would be to pick up current vacancies in the roster.

As with any change, it is important that you know your rights:

1.    BCAC must consult with all affected staff members. That means:

·         BCAC must provide all relevant information about the change in writing.

·         BCAC must invite you to give your views about the proposed change.

·         BCAC must consider any views about the impact of the change.

2.    HSU members have the right to be represented. If your colleagues are not yet HSU members, encourage them to join the union so that they are represented.

3.    Do not sign anything you are not happy with. All HSU members are encouraged to seek advice before signing or agreeing to any changes.
