BCAC Gillawarna Roster Changes: Know Your Rights
-
Published November 29, 2022
Yesterday HSU members met with BCAC management to discuss Gillawarna Village’s proposed roster changes and how it will affect staff.
BCAC management are proposing to change the current afternoon shift for carers from 14:00 - 21:30 to 14:00 - 21:00. This means a reduction of 30 minutes for each of these shifts. The proposed commencement date of this change is 26 December 2022, which includes a 4-week notice period.
BCAC has confirmed that the only proposed change is to afternoon shifts for carers, and only at Gillawarna Village. The rest of the shifts and streams will not be affected by this change.
Management cannot cut your minimum contracted hours, so members may be offered alternate shifts in order to maintain your contracted hours.
All HSU members will be given the opportunity to discuss the impact of the proposed changes through one-on-one consultation meetings. The meetings will take place between now and 5 December 2022.
It’s important that you know your rights during this consultation period.
