Bans on offloading into ambulance triage areas are still on!

Despite the message being put out by health and NSWA management, our current bans on offloading into inappropriate and unsafe areas of the hospital have not been lifted.
Labelling an area under a new title does not make it safe for patients and staff.
HSU bans will never be lifted without member consultation. This is particularly true where safety is involved.
The refusal by hospital management to find a safe offloading process continues to demonstrate that KPIs are more important than ensuring patients are given the most appropriate care in the most appropriate place.
Multiple instances of paramedic and patient safety being compromised by unsupervised patients have continued to be reported by members.
These bans will continue until a safe and acceptable resolution has been reached.
