The HSU has received correspondence from South Western Sydney Local Health District to advise of their plans to permanently close the Birralee Childcare Centre. You can view a copy of the correspondence at this link.

The Centre has played an important role in providing subsidised childcare to staff employed at the hospital and its closure will only place pressure on those parents who rely on this service. If the Centre is closed as planned at the end of Term 2, these parents will be left to fend for themselves trying to find alternative arrangements in an already congested childcare industry.
