Aged Care: Single Site Employment in the Northern Beaches

In great news the number of new COVID cases remains in single digits after days of record testing numbers. I am very hopeful as I am sure all of you are that the great work of those in the Northern Beaches community means we continue to see those numbers drop even further.

I want to acknowledge all the HSU members who have been working tirelessly over the last few days to keep residents safe, be that in the hotspot or across NSW which has gone back into aged care lockdown.

For those of you working or living on the Northern Beaches we have some further information:

Here is a link to the guiding principles for employers:

The most important principle is that you are not worse off. Ideally you should be able to work at one site and pick up additional hours OR be paid the shortfall. If you are working in one site your second employer must keep your position for an 8 week period.

We understand that not all Northern Beaches employers have opted into the program though many are preparing for changes in the next roster period. Members are encouraged to speak with your employer about your working arrangements. If you have any concerns please contact the HSU Member Services Division on 1300 478 679 or via [E-Mail not displayed].
