Afford has informed the HSU it intends to permanently close the Australia Disability Enterprise (ADEs) in Marrickville and Preston.

These closures are part of a process to consolidate Afford’s ADE operations to just the Minchinbury and Ingleburn sites.

The Marrickville ADE site is set to close on 22 December, with the Prestons site closing on 28 March 2024. Along with this consolidation, Afford will be enlarging and improving the Ingleburn site.

Afford is also seeking a new ADE Western Sydney site and once secured, will close the Minchinbury ADE site. This is anticipated to occur within the next 12 months.

Afford must consult with you as part of this process, including one-on-one meetings to discuss the changes and how it will impact you. If you require any assistance during this process or feel you’ve not been properly consulted, speak with your organiser.
