Adventist Senior Living: Time to have your say on management’s offer

Dear Member,

Last year, your employer’s representatives, ACCPA, approached HSU members to renegotiate your wages and conditions.

Your employer has taken a light touch to bargaining, offering some minor but important changes.

Here are some of the most important changes:

  • Effective from 1 January, an increase in wages to bring them to a new pay point, to view the pay points click HERE.
  • A 2.5 per cent increase on 1 July 2024
  • Another 2.5 per cent increase on 1 July 2025
  • Agreement to expire in August 2025
  • A new classification structure that aligns closer to the Award
  • Predictable hours for part-timers before commencing employment.
  • An increase in Paid Maternity Leave from nine weeks to 10 weeks
  • Introduction of an ‘Investigative Procedure’ that clearly outlines disciplinary process, having proper regard for procedural fairness.

While your HSU representatives pushed for more in-depth negotiations, your employer has now decided to put these changes and a proposed new enterprise agreement out to a vote.

You can find the proposed Agreement HERE

Is this good enough?

It is now up to you whether you think the proposed agreement is acceptable.

You get to vote yes or no. Not happy with your employer’s offer? Vote no.

Think it’s reasonable? Vote yes.  If you haven’t already, you should have been given proper access to the proposed Agreement, along with any FAQs and other material explaining the changes.

Voting will close on Monday, 29 April 2024. A majority of staff need to vote ‘yes’ for the Agreement to be accepted. If you don’t like what is being offered and want to keep negotiating, you are encouraged to vote ‘no’.

If you have any questions about the proposed Enterprise Agreement or the voting process, please contact your local HSU organiser or email [E-Mail not displayed] for assistance.
