About the role

We are looking for an experienced union organiser or campaigner to work with our members and potential members in the New England region. HSU organisers support members to run local and state-wide campaigns and through this grow the membership and power of the Union. HSU organisers have a unique opportunity to work with health and aged care workers who are not afraid to take on the big issues in these industries.

Contract:

This is a full-time permanent role.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with union members to build power in the workplace.
  • Highly developed communication, political, problem solving, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Experiencing in identifying and developing union delegates.
  • Experience in supporting union members to run local campaigns.
  • Experience in membership recruitment.
  • A commitment to union values.
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilise MS Office applications and a range of mobile devices and applications.
  • Driver’s licence and ability to travel on a regular basis.

Location:

The successful applicant will preferably work from the New England region. Please note that the HSU reserves the right to reallocate organisers to different areas as operationally required.

Remuneration:

  • $78,434 - $115,900 (dependant on relevant skills and experience) + 11.5% (12% for females) Employee Superannuation Contributions.
