PAC Homecare business transition to BaptistCare

Presbyterian Aged Care has notified the HSU that they and have entered into an agreement to transition the PAC Homecare business to BaptistCare. The proposed change is expected to be completed by late May/early June.

We have been advised that all frontline operational staff of the Home Care team will receive an offer of employment from BaptistCare on substantially similar terms and conditions to their current employment arrangement.

While management have also confirmed that your service and statutory leave entitlements will transfer to BaptistCare as part of the transition, it is important that members make sure that this does occur. We encourage members to request their balances prior to the change, and then again once the change is completed.

As per the Presbyterian Aged Care, NSWNMA and HSU NSW Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020, when major workplace change is proposed your employer must consult with you. Consultation includes the ability to raise matters about the change to management and have it reasonably considered. It also includes the ability to get support and representation from your union.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to arrange a meeting to discuss the change with your colleagues, contact your organiser or alternatively contact 1300 478 679 for assistance.

The HSU will only be representing members during the change process, so if you know a colleague that is not yet a member, encourage them to join to ensure their rights are represented. They can join now by visiting www.hsu.asn.au/join or calling 1300 HSU NSW.
